Ricoh Receives Five-Star Rating in Fifth Nikkei SDGs Management Survey
Ricoh has announced that it has been certified the highest five-star rating in the Fifth Nikkei SDGs Management Survey by Nikkei Inc. This marks the fifth consecutive year of Ricoh receiving five-star rating with more than 70 in the standard score since the beginning of the survey.
The survey recognizes companies that contributed toward solving social, economic and environmental issues through their businesses and enhance their corporate values by linking SDGs to their management efforts. Composed of questions from four areas (SDGs strategy and economic value, social value, environmental value and governance) and 18 evaluation indices created based on corporate surveys and publicly available data, the survey makes comprehensive assessment of companies' SDGs management. This year, 899 publicly listed companies in Japan participated in the survey and Ricoh was one of the eight companies that received five-star ratings.
Ricoh won the Environmental Value Award in 2019 and 2022 and the Grand Prix in 2020, which are based on the annual survey results.
Ricoh's approach to sustainability is to pursue a sustainable society through a Three Ps Balance: Prosperity (economic), People (society) and Planet (environment). To realize this desired society, Ricoh has identified seven material issues in two areas — "Resolving social issues through business" and "Robust management infrastructure," and set 16 ESG targets in linkage with the material to work toward solving these issues. Ricoh will continue to contribute to solving social issues and achieving the Sustainable Development Goals through its business activities.
