PFU America Grows FADGI-Compliant Document Scanner Portfolio
PFU America Inc., the U.S.-based subsidiary of PFU Ltd., a Ricoh company, has announced it has expanded its Federal Agencies Digital Guidelines Initiative (FADGI)-compliant scanner bundles to include the RICOH fi-8190 and fi-8290 models. These two fi Series models join the RICOH fi-8950, fi-8930, fi-7600, fi-7700, fi-7800 and fi-7900 document scanners as FADGI Modern Textual Records (MTR) compliant. With these two new additions, PFU America Inc. now offers the most comprehensive selection of FADGI MTR compliant document scanning solutions on the market.
All eight RICOH fi Series document scanners are included in PFU America Inc.'s FADGI Scanner Bundles, which consist of one scanner; calibration software; test target, installation, training; PaperStream Capture software; and access to Ricoh’s customer service team to help federal agencies meet FADGI MTR requirements, which went into effect in June 2024. These requirements apply to still image materials, including textual records and content, to the National Archives and Records Administration (NARA).
The RICOH fi-8190 and fi-8290 deliver reliability for front-office applications and are designed for demanding workflows and equipped to capture, save and share precise scans. The fi-8290 also incorporates a flatbed design, adding flexibility to scan thick or unwieldy documents, making PFU America Inc. the only company to offer FADGI MTR capable automatic document feeder (ADF)/flatbed scanner combinations.
Both models employ innovative feeding and proprietary Clear Image Capture (CIC) technology to deliver reliability and integrate evolved paper handling with a large 100-page hopper, an all-wheel drive mechanism, and fast 180 images captured per minute for fi-8190 and 140 images for fi-8290. They also integrate Ricoh’s patented Automatic Separation Control, which uses state-of-the-art technology to sense paper weight and adjusts to consistently separate documents and provide the perfect feed, ensuring documents are safely captured.
"We are proud to add the RICOH fi-8190 and fi-8290 models to our robust lineup of FADGI MTR-compliant scanners and aid our federal agency customers with these newly enacted requirements," said Daisuke Kutsuwada, president and CEO, PFU America Inc. "With the addition of these two fi Series models, PFU America Inc. now offers the widest selection of FADGI MTR-compliant document scanners at the lowest cost and smallest footprint, and our novel scanner bundles deliver an all-in-one, cost-efficient solution to meet FADGI and NARA standards."
The fi-8190 and fi-8290 FADGI Scanner Bundles are available now and are priced at MSRPs of $4,690 and $5,240, respectively. All scanners are tested for FADGI MTR compliance before shipping. Ricoh also provides on-site installation, training and support during the onboarding process.
