Kodak Alaris Introduces Powerful New Document Scanners for the Desktop

Kodak Alaris has enhanced its portfolio of document scanners with the launch of two powerful, compact models. The Kodak E1030 and E1040 provide superior image quality and a simple user interface for fast, reliable information capture.

Backed by services and support, including a three-year advanced unit replacement warranty, these new desktop scanners are designed to deliver reliable productivity gains and total peace of mind. Perfect Page technology delivers consistent high-quality images that are better than the original. The new Dual Illumination feature eliminates shadows and other artifacts that often occur when scanning damaged originals, further improving image quality and optical character recognition (OCR) accuracy. The E1000 Series also include USB 3.2 connectivity and an 80-page automatic document feeder (ADF).

With their compact size, the Kodak E1000 Series Scanners are ideal for desktop use in small to medium-sized businesses, branch offices, reception and admin desks, and enterprises with remote workers. Capable of processing up to 40 pages per minute (ppm), the E1000 scanners can handle a variety of paper sizes and weights, including hard cards. The optional Passport Accessory or integrated A4/Legal Size Flatbed Accessory accommodate document scanning for specialized needs and delicate documents.

The Kodak E1030 and E1040 scanners are easy to set up and use. Office workers can start scanning right out of the box. An intuitive LED control panel makes them easy to integrate into business processes and applications, and Smart Touch technology enables customized scanning workflows with one-touch simplicity.

"In today's era of hybrid working, digital transformation maturity is more tightly tied to business effectiveness and profitability," said Joseph Odore, global portfolio marketing manager, Kodak Alaris. "Successful digital transformation begins with document capture. The new E1000 Series scanners make it easy for organizations to convert documents into digital information and deliver data to their systems for greater business efficiency and better customer and employee experiences."

In other news, Keypoint Intelligence has presented Kodak Alaris with the Buyers Lab (BLI) 2023 Scanner Line of the Year Award. This is the seventh time in eight years that Kodak Alaris has earned this accolade. Each year, the award recognizes the product line deemed best overall, based on rigorous lab evaluations of several vendors.

"When it comes to document scanning, Kodak Alaris is king," said Lee Davis, senior analyst, Keypoint Intelligence's Office Group. "Our testing revealed that scanners from Kodak Alaris provide superior media handling, image quality, OCR accuracy, file compression and workflow automation capabilities compared to the competition."

"We're extremely proud to once again have our comprehensive product portfolio recognized by Keypoint Intelligence," said Don Lofstrom, president and general manager, Kodak Alaris. "This award endorses our expertise for image quality, highly accurate data extraction and successful process automation. Investment in R&D and a commitment to innovation are high on our list of priorities so that we can deliver on our promise to provide solutions that help businesses turn paper-based information into actionable digital data, quickly and efficiently."

The win comes hot on the heels of the announcement that the Kodak S3140 Max Scanner also received a 2023 Pick Award from Keypoint Intelligence. Lee Davis of Keypoint Intelligence described it as the ideal choice for paper-intensive office environments. In addition, scanners from Kodak Alaris were the first to successfully pass the Keypoint Intelligence testing program for the Federal Agencies Digital Guidelines Initiative (FADGI), helping organizations ensure their digital records are fully compliant ahead of the federal mandate deadline.
